本書は、2006年3月に刊行されたＳＦアート画集『武部本一郎SF挿絵原画蒐集』(上・下巻)をiPad版に再編集したものです。
構成は、1965年から1979年までに描かれた、ＳＦ小説文庫のカバー、口絵、本文挿絵を年代順に収録しました。
武部は、1957年に上京後、児童書の挿絵などで本格的に活躍するかたわら、1960年から東京創元社刊の『火星のプリンセス』（エドガー・ライス・バローズ作）に始まる火星シリーズの表紙イラストや挿絵を手がける、この作品でSFファンに認知されました。

★The main contents of the application :
This book is a book of Sci-Fi paintings "Motoichiro TAKEBE Sci-Fi Illustrations[1965-1979] ", a work in two volumes, published in March 2006 which is re-edited for the iPad version.
The covers, frontispieces, and illustrations painted between 1965 and 1979 are chronologically included in this book.
After moved up to Tokyo in 1957, Takebe actively painted the illustrations in books for children and so on, while from1960 he started to paint the cover illustration and other illustrations of the Mars Series whose first volume is "A Princess of Mars" written by Edgar Rice Burroughs and published by Tokyo Sogensha Co., . This work made him widely known by Sci-Fi fans.
He worked in Sci-Fi painting between 1960s and 1970s.

iPad is rotated 90 degrees, you can watch while replacing the picture aspect ratio.
Therefore, in book mode of iPad,You can appreciate the work of portrait or landscape painting without being disturbed in the middle seams of paper books.
In catalog mode by swipe operation, you can see a lot of pictures in fast forward, and also search by title or chapter.
Favorite picture together, you can enjoy the works that appear in the slide show after another.

Using search engine box on the toolbar, you can search images from its title in the art book.

Double-tapping a thumbnail can added the original image into 'Favorite'.

- 『武部本一郎SF挿絵原画蒐集』[上・下巻]に収録されていた監修者加藤直之のコラム、ご家族のインタビュー、ご家族のアルバムは、ページ数を増やしたiPad改訂版を、後日、無料配布予定（日本語版のみ）
- 2006年の『武部本一郎SF挿絵原画蒐集』[上・下巻]には収録できなかった、栗本薫氏所蔵の武部作品(栗本氏没後、弥生美術館に寄贈)を新たに追加した完全バージョンを無償アップグレードが可能。なお、完全バージョン版は、2011年春発売予定。予価2400円。
- iPad版『武部本一郎SF挿絵原画蒐集』につづいて、武部本一郎の『少年少女図書原画蒐集』『絵本原画蒐集』『図鑑イラスト原画蒐集』『スケッチ集』のiPad版画集を予定しています。
- The works of Takebe, which Kaoru Kurimoto owned and gave to Yayoi Museum of Tokyo after he deceased and were not included in "Motoichiro TAKEBE Sci-Fi Illustrations[1965-1979] ", work in two volumes, in 2006, are added into the complete version which you can update for free. The complete version is plan to be sold at \2,400 in Spring of 2011.
- Following the iPad version of "Motoichiro TAKEBE Sci-Fi Illustrations[1965-1979]", the iPad version of paintings which are "Motoichiro TAKEBE Illustrations for juvenilia", "Motoichiro TAKEBE Illustrations for picture books", "Motoichiro TAKEBE Illustrations for encyclopedia", and "Sketch Collection by Motoichiro TAKEBE" is planning.
